  3. The Battle of the Alamo (February 23 – March 6, 1836) was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. Mexican troops under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna launched an assault on the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar. Santa Anna's perceived cruelty during the battle inspired many Texians—both Texas settlers and adventurers from the United States—to join the Texian Army. Buoyed by a desire for revenge, the Texians defeated the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto, on April 21, 1836, ending the revolution. Texians had driven all Mexican troops out of Mexican Texas. The Texian force grew slightly with the arrival of reinforcements led by eventual Alamo co-commanders James Bowie and William B. Travis. On February 23, approximately 1,500 Mexican troops marched into San Antonio de Béxar as the first step in a campaign to re-take Texas. Travis wrote multiple letters pleading for more men and supplies, but fewer than 100 reinforcements arrived. Under President de Santa Anna, the Mexican government began to shift away from a federalist model. These were accustomed to a federalist government and to extensive individual rights, and they were quite vocal in their displeasure at Mexico's shift towards centralism. Already leery of previous American attempts to purchase Texas, Mexican authorities blamed much of the Texian unrest on American immigrants. In October, Texians engaged Mexican troops in the first official battle of the Texas Revolution. Santa Anna began assembling a large force, the Army of Operations in Texas, to restore order.

  4. The Mexicans fired a cannon at the Texans. When Travis took the cannon, everyone looked at him with more respect. After that, the Texans decided to fire the Mexican's cannonball right back at them. The Mexicans tried to sneak up on the Texans the next day, but the Texans spotted them. The Mexicans didn't fire at first, they were testing the Texans, but they eventually started to fire which caused the Texans to fire back. Once the Texans started firing cannons, the Mexicans started to run away because they're pabs & the Texans are real thugs. One of the Mexican soldiers tried to shoot David but Travis came and shot the soldier because David is the homie and he got his back fo' lyfe ju herd.

  5. So it started out that after the Mexicans had put up that red flag basically saying that they will fight to the death for this land, they fired a cannon at the texans which didn't explode. Travis got the bright idea to re use the cannon that fired, too bad nobody wanted to approach it and have their heads blown off. Travis gained the courage to go up to the cannon and picked it up. By doing this Travis earned the respect of many of the men there. With that cannon they shot it at the Mexicans starting a little battle which the Mexicans ended up retreating from. Travis and some men went to go burn down a place that belonged to the Mexicans where his life was saved by one of his men. A Mexican attempted to attack him but he was shot by Travis' partner before that could happen. That's all for today.

  6. When Travis picled up the canon ball, he told his men to fire it back at them. Once they shot it, he told his men to fire all the canons. After that, the Texians burned down the little huts so that the Mexicans had less coverage. It ended up showing their true stregnth and the Mexican Army wouldn't underestimate their enemies. Than at night, David Crockett told his stories to the men when he was in war.

  8. The Mexicans fire a cannon at the Texans, but it didn't explode. Travis told the men to pick it up so they can reuse it, but instead he did. When he picked up the cannon ball it showed how strong is as a leader & the men gained more respect for him. So Travis decided to throw their cannonball right back at them. The next day the Mexicans try quietly sneaking up on the Texans, but they were spotted and quickly fired at. Travis decided that they needed more men so he writes to Sam Houston, asking to send over more men.

  9. Travis decided to pick up the cannonball and re-use it. The other men saw this and now they have faith in their leader. They shot the cannon back at them and in conclusion the Mexicans retreated back. There were little houses/huts providing the Mexicans cover so they went and burned them down. Travis wrote to Houston saying that they needed more men there, but he'll hold down his position and die there if he has to.

In the beginning of the movie, the Mexicans shot a cannon but it didn't explode. Then Lieutenant Kernal Travis picked up the bomb, and everyone of his troops gained respect for him. Then Kernal Travis decided to take the bomb they fired, and fire it back to the Mexicans. Then after words, Davies Crockett and some men took torches and lit some of the huts on fire. A man from Mexico, tried shooting him but missed, then when we tried shooting him again Kernal Travis shot him and killed him. Then Travis wrote to Sam Houston saying they need more men.

  12. In the beginning, Travis picked up the unfired cannon and shot it back at the Mexicans. After he fired up the cannon, everyone just stared at him in shock. They didn't think that he would do it and when he did, they looked at him differently; with more respect. After that, some of the men went over and lit the Mexicans posts on fire. While Davy Crockett was lighting one, a Mexican soldier tried to shoot him but missed. Colonel Travis was watching and shot the Mexican when Davy wasn't looking. Davy then went over to him and asked him what his name was, but the soldier died before he could answer. On their way back to town, Davy was feeling ashamed and wasn't as excited or accepting the congratulations everyone was giving him. Later on, Travis said for his soldiers to stay where they are because he realized they couldn't win against the thousands of Mexican soldiers. He then wrote a letter declaring they need to wait until they get more men to help them fight.
